The week is almost here and I’ve got a lot of grilling planned. Cheryl and I are making big plans for Easter Feaster, but that’s still 3 days away and I’m hungry now! Tonight I whipped up a quick dinner of pork chops and green apples.

Grilled Pork Chops & Apples |
Ever since Peter Brady uttered the words “Pork chops and applesauce” I must have apples with my pork chops. Apple sauce is good…if you’re a baby! My apple sides need more oomph. Nothing has more apple oomph than real apples, right? So I quartered up some fresh and crisp granny smith apples, sprayed them with cooking oil and grilled them up.

After the apples were grilled on each side I placed them in a foil pan with ½ a stick of butter, a quarter cup of brown sugar, a splash of white wine and a dash of cinnamon. I stirred the sauce around a little bit just to mix everything up while I cooked my chops.

For an impromptu dinner this was actually very good. The grilled apples were sweet, tangy and really complimented the saltiness of the pork chop. The best part was getting a piece of pork, some apple on the fork, then dipping it in the brown sugar sauce. Ah, delish!

Well that’s it for tonight. I need to get back to planning our Easter dinner. I’ve also got a craving for a big juicy steak that I plan on grilling up this weekend. I’ve lot’s to do and so little time, maybe I should call in “sick” tomorrow?
That sauce sounds perfect for the pork AND the apples!
