There was no thrill for the grill this last week. First, we ate out a lot this week. Then when I was going to grill some chicken tenders I found that I had left one of the burners on and burned up all of my propane. I really hate it when I do stupid crap like that. I did grill the chicken tenders and they were delicious they just did not seem sexy enough to write a blog post about.
I realize if my blog is going to have sexy and exciting content I have to cook something, anything, even if it’s bad. To make up for my lack of content I am going to make something as soon as I post this blog. That something is going to be green chile turkey sausage. Two weeks ago I ate some a green chile turkey sausage at one of my favorite restaurants, Flying Star, since then I have been semi-obsessed with making my own. I researched some recipes online and let my mind percolate a little bit. So here’s the recipe I came up with.
This is the revised recipe I posted on 11-8-10.
Green Chile Turkey Sausage
1 pound of ground turkey
3 heaping tablespoons of chopped green chile.
2 teaspoons of kosher salt
2 teaspoons of garlic powder
2 teaspoons of black pepper
1 teaspoon of white pepper
1 teaspoon of sage
1 teaspoon of green chile powder
I’m going to mix all this together and let it sit over night. Tomorrow, I will cook it up in an egg burrito. I will post my results and updates to my recipe tomorrow. Stay tuned for the results.
