| Trailer Trash Shortcake
With last week’s triumphant return of the Twinkie I thought I would share with you one of my favorite Twinkie serving suggestions. I call it the Trailer Trash Shortcake or to be politically correct, manufactured home shortcake. The TT Shortcake is very simple, slice a twinkie length-wise and open to expose the sweet creamy center. Now fill with fresh cut strawberries that have been sprinkled with a couple of tablespoons of sugar to make a little juice. Finally, top the whole thing with a generous pipping of canned whipped cream and voila, the Trailer Trash Shortcake! I don’t expect to set the culinary world on fire with my dessert, but it it is one our favorites and were glad the Twinkie has made a comeback!
